Electronic Commerce in kenya

The world is changing, and especially the world is changing the way in which it does business. No where is this change more pronounced than in the world of Electronic Commerce in Kenya. When Vodaphone's Safaricom started M-PESA in 2009, they almost certainly did not envisage the success that it has become. Vodaphone says here that:

The phenomenal take-up of M-PESA is clear evidence that innovative, yet simple and practical solutions really do make a difference where it counts. In Kenya alone, it is estimated that almost a quarter of the population now uses M-PESA.

M-PESA is the worlds most successful mobile money transfer service and now Kenyan businesses are taking it to the next level by integrating it into their businesses.

Now kenyan business are using mpesa to recieve payments.

Some of the companies that are using M-Pesa to process payments are; KPLC (Kenya Power and Lighting Company), Nairobi Water and Sewareage Company, CIC, Kenya Airways.
